NETWORK LEARNING

 

 

Network Learning is a process of developing and maitaining connection with people and information, and communicating in such a way so as to support one another's learning. 

 

Recently Infinity computers, Uganda’s top IT service provider has chosen IBM to deliver cloud services to support a wide range of new web and mobile offerings for its clients.

 

Before the Infinity computers hosted all its servers on premise and was running into several limitations such as internet bandwidth capacity, scalability and stable power at the server room level, and inadequate customer care and technical support.

 

But now after the implementation of the cloud services has begun by IBM , there has been a 40% improved performance in accessibility and speed of providing services. 

This has also resulted in a lowering the operating costs by 45 percent in support resources, internet bandwidth and electrical power consumptions.

 

This has helped in the growth of a number of enterprises across Uganda and the rest of Africa to drive their expansion and overall business plans.

 

Banking  

 

The improved network infrastructure brought in by the IBM integration has helped sign 20 banking deals throughout Africa.

 

Enhancing Education at school level 

 

On May 28, 2014 the ninth International Conference on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for Development, Education and Training began in Uganda, with the theme of Opening Frontiers to the Future. Uganda has dedicated its resources to building infrastructure, such as expanding electricity and Internet services to rural area. By expanding these services and undertaking other technology-based initiatives,

 

Uganda hopes to improve education. This year’s eLearning conference examines the newest innovations and how these measures can be implemented in the curriculum.
